This is a .50 cal black powder percussion cap pistol that I built from the Traditions Trapper Pistol kit. I was extremely nervous the first time shooting this since I haven’t fired a black powder gun for a very long time, much less one that I built. This is a GREAT shooting pistol, however! Started off with some 20 grain FFFg powder loads, and then bumped it up to about 25 grains FFFg powder and was getting really good accuracy from the pistol for what it was. I was expecting a lot of recoil too, but it was very manageable since the gun is very heavy and we weren’t loading near the max loads of powder. We all had a blast out shooting it for the first time. I hope ya’ll enjoyed watching! Stay safe and we’ll see ya next time!
