Part 1 of my porch interview with George Icard of GI Customs. We discuss his humble beginnings as a knife maker. And how YouTube played a big part in his early development as a craftsman.
George has gone from making knives out of files in a cramped and under equipped work space to making blades of all shapes and sizes with excellent edge geometry, performance and looks. His knives are all over the world now. His work space has grown and his equipment is some of the best you can get. Not bad for a little over two years and a lot of very hard work.
Georges’ story is inspiring to me. It defines what a creative mind and the freedom to pursue our dreams can bring forth.
I love this country and the opportunities it can nurture. Georges’ story is the story of America.
Dream it and do it. We succeed and fail. But we try and do not stop.
